In the House

The view from the front door - isn't that lovely? It's just beautiful, even with the towels drying on the railing. :)

So this is Tiffanie and Corey typing, and here's our 2 cents from visiting their home - first off, from what I'd read on their facebook posts and what they told us, I had a picture in my mind of a humble little house on stilts (which I've seen here in CR) made of planks of old wood. Now after seeing their house, we were so happy for them - this house is awesome! And again, this is just us visiting it, I'm sure there are difficulties that only people who live there know about (for example, they've mentioned the unreliable fridge and stove - never know if they're going to work or not). Still, this home is a very obvious blessing. It’s hard to imagine a better place for two families to live, and how blessed they are to have gotten such a great deal on a place this wonderful.

Our kids were very jealous of the loft, the ample room to play outside (Ok, I admit it, I am jealous too!!!) – even the kitchen had several barstools in a row for lots of kids. It seems in many ways a perfect fit. I'm sure you've read them say what a blessing and a miracle this house was, and I think I have to agree.

As soon as you walk in, you see the ladder/stairs to the loft - all my kids went straight for it.

Abi and Leah climbing up to the Kid zone! The door handle on the right hand side of the ladder is the door to Melanie and Dannan's room - and sorry I forgot to get a picture of there.

As you stand at the ladder to climb, there is a bathroom door behind you...

Going up to the loft... It totally felt like a tree house, or something made by the Swiss Family Robinson. When you took that tour of Disneyland, didn't you sometimes wish you lived there? Well now you know two families that do! Only more modern. This loft is such a fun place for the kids - my munchkins were in total awe.

This photo above is facing northward, and below is facing southward...

Looking down from the loft into the living area on the north end of the house...

Hi Michael!

,
I'm coming down the ladder now - Hey Rachael!

The loft and the kitchen area both have windows all around, with a sometimes mesh sometimes wire netting covering the steel bars or wood, to try to keep out insect visitors.

Jacob showing us the ax brandished in his encounter with a bus load of angry baptist choir singers, in case you've heard that story.

There is a bar and island in the middle of the kitchen - Melanie washing dishes at the island...

Jacob putting away some food...

Dannan and Corey walking on either side of the island.

The pantry.
Joseph helping wash dishes...

Now Rachael's washing dishes... I'm sure someone could have a full time job washing dishes.

Corey, Jacob and Dannan had a great visit. Corey is heading out to Chile soon, so this might be his last visit. He's been pretty fascinated with their story, so he was glad to have lots of time to visit with the men.

From where Dannan is sitting, if you looked up, this would be the view of the loft...

If you walked past where Jacob is sitting, you'd see the door to his and Rachael's bedroom.

For the next post - let's go see what the kids did outside while the mom's made lunch and the men visited, (and I walked around taking pictures.) :)
